BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. ( KLFY ) — Louisiana first responders continue to help out their counterparts out of state, in the wake if the devastation of Hurricane Helene.
The Louisiana State Police Mobile Field Force team has traveled to help Helene victims in North Carolina, and has met some very resilient residents. The team is currently assisting first responders in Buncombe County by handing out supplies at distribution sites, staffing medical and evacuation shelters and manning roadblocks for impassable and dangerous roads.

Buncombe County includes the city of Asheville, which was hit by massive flooding and isolation after the storm.
