Tropical wave likely to develop into depression by Monday, forecasters say

A tropical wave is likely to develop into a tropical depression over the next two days, according to the National Hurricane Center in Miami. The system, which is in the western Caribbean, is forecast to “slowly drift north or northwest” into the Gulf by the middle of next week and has a 70% of becoming of tropical depression within 48 hours, hurricane forecasters say.
