Heavy rainfall continues to impact the area as a front drifts eastward, bringing moderate to severe rain. Some locations have already seen more than 3 inches of rain, with areas north of Lumberton approaching one foot. Localized flooding remains a significant threat through the evening, prompting ongoing flood watches across the region.
While the coastal flood advisory is set to expire at noon, tides are expected to briefly rise 1.5 feet above normal during the next high tide.
Looking ahead, the weather will dry up starting Tuesday, with no major precipitation expected through Saturday. Above-normal temperatures will persist until Thursday, when a cold front is forecast to bring cooler air for Friday and Saturday.
