Gov. Landry’s plan to raise sales taxes may also raise insurance premiums

BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Governor Jeff Landry’s plan to cut corporate and personal income taxes means adding new taxes to 41 everyday services. Some lawmakers are concerned about a rise in prices and insurance premiums. Lobbyists for the insurance industry in Louisiana made their case today, saying that with higher costs for things like home repairs, insurance premiums will follow suit.
