BATON ROUGE, La. (NEWS 15) – Lawmakers at the Louisiana State Capitol are at a stalemate over Gov. Jeff Landry’s proposal to impose new sales taxes on a variety of services. The measure is a key part of a broader initiative by the governor to overhaul Louisiana’s tax system. It may be in jeopardy if a deal isn’t reached soon. Lawmakers adjourned for the day on Tuesday afternoon after they failed to reach a consensus on what should be taxed.
