Robbie and Jillian Lee have seen firsthand how Louisianans’ increasing reliance on a new breed of powerful home generators can go horribly wrong. In the Lees’ Bayou Country Club neighborhood near Thibodaux, the power went out during September’s Hurricane Francine – and then the gas did, too. That affected not only homes, but also a parish sewage treatment plant that relied on a natural gas-fueled generator.
