Louisiana Confirms Two EF1 Tornadoes with Winds Up to 100 MPH

Shreveport, LA – Two EF1 tornadoes struck Sabine and Jackson parishes during severe storms Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS). NWS survey teams reported that the first tornado touched down west of Alliance in Sabine Parish around 5:49 p.m. It reached peak winds of 100 mph, carved a 1.91-mile path, and spanned 220 yards in width. A second tornado formed west of Clay in Jackson Parish around 7:59 p.m., producing 90 mph winds and traveling 1.29 miles with a 100-yard width. Neither tornado caused injuries or fatalities.
