Frederick County deputy receives Maryland’s Deputy of the Year

FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The Frederick County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) is celebrating one of its own as he has been honored with the state-wide recognition of Deputy of the Year.

“I was honored for one shock for another,” Cpl. Brady Parson said.

That’s how Parson summed up how it felt to receive Deputy of the Year at the Maryland Sheriff’s Association Conference.

“There are so many other people that have led me to this position and led me to like the opportunities that I’ve had within the agency that would even put me in this category of people,” Parson said. “It’s not just my work, but it’s other people around me that do just as good a job.”

For as long as he remembers, Parson said he has always wanted to serve his community. So far through their Pro-Active Criminal Enforcement (PACE) Team, he has been able to do just that and more.

“Just having the time and opportunity to be certified and all those things, and within that kind of putting those training roles to try and help some of our younger deputies learn the ropes to be a good deputy,” Parson said.
