Moore appoints Maryland’s first watchdog for prisons amid new law, rising scrutiny

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WBFF) – Gov. Wes Moore took executive action on Friday to formalize the state’s first Office of Correctional Ombudsman. The new watchdog’s office was established via legislation passed by the Maryland General Assembly last session as part of a series of justice reform overhauls to address increased public scrutiny of the state’s corrections system.
