This is an updated version of a column that appears in the October issue of The Business Monthly, serving Howard and Anne Arundel counties. The presidential election this year may well be determined in places like the neighborhood where I grew up in Croydon, Pennsylvania, an aging white working-class town in lower Bucks County, just north of Philadelphia.
