It’s the first time the National Capital and Greater Chesapeake Region of the Red Cross is deploying two large command and control vehicles.

The first vehicle named “Red Wolf,” is a 40’ long mobile command and control center. It has workstations, cameras and satellite communication to help leadership plan the Red Cross response.

The other is called “Rollin Nolan.” It’s a large space that can be reconfigured for a variety of uses from interviewing and helping people in their recovery process to a place where those in need and volunteers can relax and charge their items.

“It’s very essential. Both of these vehicles are equipped with onboard generators so we can go into areas where there is no power and still be able to plan and coordinate the red cross response,” said driver Kelvin Baptist.
