“Perfectly Imperfect” Puppy Rejected By Mother Is Looking For Love

A beautiful eight-month-old, 30lb rescue mix who was rejected by her mother is now looking for her forever home. The non-profit Great Dog Rescue New England, a shelterless, all-breed rescue group headquartered in Massachusetts explains a bit about June, stating: “Perfectly imperfect. This sweet girl is blind but that doesn’t stop her from living life and loving her people. Born in June she was rejected by her Momma. So, she was surrendered to rescue, bottle fed and cared for by her foster. She is now 8 months old and thriving!”

Her foster describes June as a sweet girl who loves cuddling and sitting quietly with her humans. Despite being blind, she enjoys playing with her foster sister and is quick to learn commands. “She is getting so many commands down pat – she knows the words food, watch out, no, potty, step up, step down, jump down, calm, gentle, go to bed. And she is working on come, leave it, down. That is amazing for a sighted dog of this age but for her really it is so impressive!” June’s foster explains that “once she has mapped an area she does so well navigating it” and that she getting used to using a halo harness in new areas, in stores, and during walks. “Because of her blindness she startles more easily with unexpected noises.”
