(MA) Meet the wonderful Tank Dixie! This Mountain Cur & Boxer mix boy has been through a lot in his young life. He has seen the cruelty of people firsthand, but also the kindness they can offer. Thanks to that kindness, Tank is now in safe hands and will shortly be heading to Massachusetts for a brand new chapter of his life.
What Happened To Tank?
According to Great Dog Rescue New England, Tank was originally a stray who struggled each day to find enough food to survive. One day, he finally got a chance at a home when someone picked him up off the streets. However, this luck was short-lived, as after a few weeks the human decided he was too much of a bother, and decided to bring him to the vet to be euthanized.
Luckily, after a vet associated with GDRNE heard this, they decided to take him in themselves and care for him. Unlike the person who gave up on Tank, this vet made sure he was given the proper care. During that time Tank was treated for heartworms, received his vaccinations, and was neutered.
