Meet The Dog Saved 21 Minutes Before Being Euthanized Due To Low Shelter Space

If you’re looking for a sweet, playful, and friendly dog then look no further than two-year-old Pippi, who was saved minutes before her life was meant to be ended. “She was 21 minutes away from being euthanized, for no reason other than the shelter needing space. We scooped her up immediately, you could literally see the gratitude on her sweet face!” Explains Sandy Paws Rescue Inc.

Sandy Paws Rescue is a nonprofit foster-based dog rescue in Massachusetts that works to save dogs and give them a second chance by finding them their forever home. Sandy Paws Rescue explains that they “rescue dogs from various shelters, cruelty situations, owner surrenders in Massachusetts, and strays from Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.” They don’t have a shelter location therefore all of their dogs wait to find their forever homes while in private foster homes or kennels.

Sandy Paws Rescue is a “100% volunteer-only operation,” with most of their volunteers having full-time day jobs in addition to the work they do for the rescue. They explain “our only personal gain, is from seeing our dogs placed in wonderful homes.” Sandy Paws Rescue operates and is only able to exist due to donations made to the nonprofit rescue. From transporting them from one state to another, to paying all medical bills, food, and more- running a dog rescue is expensive. “Our adoption fees do not cover the amount that we spend on our puppies/dogs to vet and transport them,” explains Sandy Paws Rescue.
