Juney’s early life was marred by severe trauma. He was beaten and brutally attacked with a machete, leaving him with a fractured jaw and significant damage to his mouth and nose. The cruelty he endured is almost unimaginable, yet Juney’s spirit remained unbroken. When Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. learned of him, they knew they had to intervene and offer him a chance at a better life.
Juney’s path to recovery was fraught with difficult decisions. Initially, veterinarians suggested re-fracturing Juney’s jaw to correct the damage, but the procedure carried significant risks and would have been extremely traumatic. After careful consideration and spending time with Juney, the team at Sandy Paws Rescue Inc. opted for dental surgery instead, they explain. “After spending time with Juney, we realized that with dental surgery alone, his quality of life would improve greatly. At this point, his injuries are cosmetic and do not cause him pain and his dental surgery has allowed him to eat more comfortably.”
