EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — A mix of snow and rain is falling across Southern New England Thursday morning.
Although it’s not accumulating much, it’s just enough to interfere with the morning commute.
Crews were out overnight pre-treating the roads, but several school districts in Rhode Island, including Burrillville, Foster-Glocester, and North Scituate, still delayed the start of the day .
In Rhode Island, the Department of Transportation had 500 pieces of equipment ready to go, and in Massachusetts, they have more than 3,000.

One resident told 12 News that the snow is a pleasant sight to see.
“Oh it’s great to have the first snowfall of the season, the kids are going to love it, my son and my daughter, they’re going to enjoy this when they wake up this morning,” Anthony Petracchi said.
