BOSTON (WPRI) — “Taylor Drift,” “C 3 P Snow,” and “Mac N’ Freeze” are just a few of the creative names chosen in a statewide contest to name 12 snowplows that will operate across Massachusetts this winter.
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) announced Monday the winners of the third annual “Name A Snowplow” contest, which invited elementary and middle school students across the state to participate.
MassDOT said the deadline for submissions was Friday, Dec. 8, and schools could submit an unlimited number of entries.
The contest aims to kick off the winter season while recognizing the hard work and dedication of public works employees.

“This contest is a great way for schools across the state to connect with the crews who work tirelessly to keep our roads clear each winter,” Highway Administrator Jonathan Gulliver said.
A selection panel of MassDOT employees chose two winners from each of the six Highway Division districts.
