Thousands headed to stores across region for last-minute Christmas shopping

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – While some finished wrapping their gifts weeks ago, others have one or two left they need to buy.

People across western Massachusetts headed to stores like Marshalls and Target on Christmas Eve to make sure they could check off the final items on their Christmas gift lists.

“I just have to get one more thing for my sister and I’ve been doing santa photos at Bright Nights so I haven’t had much time to shop” says Sofia Manuel of Wilbraham.

“I’ve been working, and busy. I do have a lot of last minute shopping to do” says Jessica Parker of Easthampton.

“We feel like we were a little caught up this year between online and in-stores so we’re just check off some last minute items” says Dean Manuel of Wilbraham.

A recent consumer report found 68% of people are concerned about how inflation is going to impact holiday shopping.

“The holidays can be a little rough but we’re just hanging in there and we’re going to make the best of it,” says Marcella Gonzalez.
