SAGINAW COUNTY, MI – A funeral service for a Michigan State Police trooper who died while conducting a traffic stop is scheduled for next week. Joel Popp, 39 of the Tri-City Post, died Wednesday, Jan. 24 after being struck by a vehicle on I-75. He leaves behind a wife and 8-year-old daughter.
