Your Michigan state tax form is going to ask you to become an organ donor

(WWJ) — When filing taxes this year, Michiganders may notice a seemingly out-of-place question: “Would you like to be an organ donor? Check ‘yes’ or no.’”

But it’s not a mistake.

Last year Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed the Check Your Heart Act into law, allowing residents to opt-in to becoming an organ donor on their state income tax forms.
