MID-MICHIGAN (WNEM) – Animal shelters in mid-Michigan are reducing its adoption fees in October, according to the Bissell Pet Foundation. The annual Empty the Shelters event will run from Oct. 1 through Oct. 15. The Bissell Pet Foundation, a nonprofit organization, is sponsoring the event by reducing the adoption fees at more than 360 shelters in 43 states,including Michigan.
