Love ’em or hate ’em (check that – nobody actually ‘loves’ them), roundabouts are a way of life here in Michigan and these are the most dangerous throughout our state. There are currently about 180 roundabouts – or as your GPS refers to them, “traffic circles” – here in Michigan. You may despise them, but experts say they make traffic flow more efficiently at intersections and reduce the risk of injury or death. Data from the Michigan Department of Transportation analyzed by Michigan Auto Law indicates that while there are more crashes in roundabouts, there are significantly fewer injuries and fatalities caused by accidents.
