Gov. Whitmer gives attention to school safety

Earlier this week, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer gave attention to mental health and school safety programs as she signed legislation that will give a $125 million boost to such programs early next year.

“We all want our kids to go to school and come home at the end of the day, and be able to focus on learning while they are there,” Whitmer said. “But our kids are worried, and they know … school shootings happen everyday.”
