Michigan saw homelessness increase by 2% in a year as housing costs climb and affordable housing becomes harder to find. The latest statewide data shows the number of people experiencing homelessness rose again in 2023 – marking an 8% increase over the past four years. While the increase is relatively small, according to a recently published annual report from Michigan’s Campaign to End Homelessness, it shows that more people are still facing homelessness.
