Green Line rolls toward Park

For years, construction has become a familiar sight around Park. Roads have been changed, tracks have been placed and stations have taken shape as the Metro Transit Green Line extension moves closer to opening. Now, after years of construction and changing timelines, Metro Transit has announced that the extension will open and begin operations June 12, 2027.

The 14.5-mile extension will connect the existing METRO Green Line at Target Field in Minneapolis with Park, Hopkins, Minnetonka and Eden Prairie. The extension will add 16 new stations and create a continuous Green Line Trip From Eden Prairie through Minneapolis and St. Paul.

For Park, the extension will add three stations—Wooddale, Beltline and Louisiana Avenue—creating new connections to the rest of the metro area…
