PEORIA, Ill. – A Mississippi man will spend the rest of his life in prison after being convicted in the shooting deaths of his wife and stepson in September 2022. 35-year-old Rickey Payne was found guilty of two counts of First Degree Murder after a three-day trial. Jurors deliberated for two-and-a-half hours before reaching their verdicts.
