Mississippi attorney general wants to crack down on new areas of crime

JACKSON, Miss. – Attorney General Lynn Fitch is asking Mississippi lawmakers to pass a package of bills that will crack down on new areas of crime. She is seeking tougher penalties for criminal offices involving gang violence and those who recruit young people. It’s a debate in the midst of high-crime rates nationwide. Fitch argues much of it traces back to the lack of border enforcement and the drugs that cross over.
