SUNFLOWER CO., Miss. (WMC) – A Mississippi lawmaker filed a bill this week that would phase out operations at Parchman. Senate Bill 2353 would, if passed, phase down operations at the state prison over a four-year period and transfer its inmates, employees and programs to other state and regional facilities within the Mississippi Department of Corrections.
