JACKSON, Miss. ( WJTV ) – The Mississippi House honored Grammy award-winning Blues legend Bobby Rush on Thursday.
Rush has been nominated for a Grammy seven times. He won his third at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards this year for Best Traditional Blues Album.
Lawmakers gathered at the Mississippi State Capitol to present Rush with House Concurrent Resolution 43, which commends Rush on winning his third Grammy
“At 90 years old, and I’ve been doing this for 73 years and 429 records. If anybody saw that clip when I won the last Grammy, I said and I held it up, ‘I’m taking this back to Mississippi,’” Rush said.
