Palestinian-American claims MS Congressman Mike Ezell struck her Tuesday

A Palestinian-American woman is pressing charges against Mississippi’s District 4 Congressman Mike Ezell for allegedly assaulting her on Capitol Hill.

Ezell, who is running for reelection this November, was shown in a video posted Tuesday striking toward Sumer Mobarak, a member of a feminist political advocacy group based in California called Code Pink.

Code Pink primarily focuses on publishing and lobbying efforts to end United States warfare and related conflicts, promote peace initiatives and education and environmentalism, according to its website.

In a video sent to the Clarion Ledger, Mobarek and others were shown asking Ezell to end his support of Israel in its war against Palestine and to stop supporting “genocide.” Both parties were walking down a hallway in U.S. Congress.

Ezell then turned around and told Mobarak to “shut up” and to “knock it off” before he allegedly struck her. In the video, Mobarak’s phone is shown falling as Ezell swatted at her.
