Three South Mississippi kitchens fail health inspections, two with repeat violations

Only three restaurants and kitchens in South Mississippi were cited for health issues over the last three weeks, but two of them had repeat issues that weren’t corrected from prior inspections.

These kitchens were cited by the state health department since Aug. 27:

Twin Peaks Restaurant at 3516 Sangani Blvd., D’Iberville, was inspected for a permit on Sept. 4.

It was cited for:

▪ Inadequate hand washing facilities supplied and accessible, a repeat violation.

A corrective follow-up inspection the same day showed the violation was corrected and the restaurant scored a B. This was the second C dating back to 2015. The prior one was in 2023.

Perico’s Mexican Grill at 547 E Frontage Dr. , Wiggins, had a scheduled inspection Sept. 12. It was cited for:

▪ Improper eating, tasting, drinking or tobacco use, a repeat offense

▪ Food separated and protected, repeat

▪ Improper hot holding temperatures, repeat

▪ Improper date marking and disposition, repeat
