Tuesday’s Forecast

Good morning Mississippi! Today will be mostly sunny. Temps start off in the 60s and 70s this morning and will reach a high in the upper 80s and lower 90s this afternoon. Generally rain-free weather is expected today and tomorrow. Better rain chances begin Thursday and continue into the weekend thanks in part to tropical moisture in the Gulf of Mexico. We are watching the possibility for tropical development this week or this weekend in the west Caribbean or southern Gulf of Mexico. A depression or storm may be located in the Gulf of Mexico by this weekend, based on some computer model forecasts. It’s too early to tell if something will even form or where it would be located and what impacts could occur, if any. However, system or not, it does seem that there will be plenty of tropical moisture pooling into the Gulf and this should help parts of the Gulf Coast region (including South MS) to see better rain chances at some point from late this week into the weekend.
