Graves and Cleaver call for USPS to halt future rate increases

Two of Missouri’s congressmen have teamed up to blast the rate hikes the U.S. Postal Service just implemented. Northern Missouri Republican Sam Graves and Kansas City Democrat Emanuel Cleaver last week called on the postal service to halt the rate hikes, which didn’t happen. The new higher rates took effect Sunday, which included a two-cent hike in the price of a first-class stamp to 68 cents. Priority Mail services have also increased by 5.7%, Priority Mail Express has gone up by 5.9%, and Ground Advantage services are up by 5.4%.
