Cori Bush holds campaign kickoff event in north St. Louis County

ST. LOUIS – Cori Bush is running to keep her seat as a Missouri Congresswoman, stepping up efforts for her reelection on Saturday afternoon.

Bush and supporters gathered for a new campaign kickoff event at the North Oaks Plaza in north St. Louis County. Nearly 500 people attended the event.

Bush spoke in length about the importance of working with elected officials and groups of supporters to make sure their voices are heard in representing the St. Louis area.

“It would be so much easier for me to go back to being a nurse every single day working as a nurse, which I love. But that’s not where my calling is right now,” said Bush. “My calling is to be here to serve you to represent you by talking with you, working with you, by hearing from you, being out in the street with you, learning what you need, and hearing from you.”

Bush was first elected to her role in 2018. She is the first African-American woman to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives from Missouri.
