ST. LOUIS – The Missouri Supreme Court rules in favor of St. Louis City over a police Bill of Rights.
In response to the 2020 death of George Floyd by Minneapolis police, state Republicans passed it. It requires that the city defend officers if they are sued civilly and that it reimburse the officers if they lose income during the investigation.

The city claimed it was an “unfunded mandate” and illegal under state law. The high court agreed and sent the case back to the circuit court.
