Wednesday, January 31: More 60s and sunshine on the way

We’ve seen a warm week so far and we’ll keep that trend going through Friday. Today will be another day filled with 60s and sunshine! Low to mid-60s will be common today with winds out of the southwest around 10 mph. Tonight will be mild in the upper 30s to low 40s with another warm day in the mid-60s Thursday.

A few additional clouds are possible on Thursday as a weak piece of energy passes through Kansas, but generally expect more sun than clouds. Some data tries to bring spotty light rain showers to the area late Thursday into Friday, but most spots will stay dry until the weekend.

High pressure over the upper midwest will cause our next storm system to slide south of the Ozarks and along the Gulf Coast. The storm will still sling cloudy skies and a band of rain our way for Saturday and Sunday. Western and southern Missouri and northern Arkansas have the greatest rain chances this weekend with lower chances in central Missouri.

The rain and clouds this weekend will douse the warmup with temperatures running cooler in the low to mid-50s.
