(KOAM) – Today, February 5, 2024, the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) issued a scam alert after receiving reports of scam calls asking individuals for donations over the phone by credit card.
The MDC stated, “We’ve learned the public has received calls from a number claiming to be an “officer” with MDC. The caller then asks for a donation via credit card. Just a reminder – MDC will never contact you asking for money. If you suspect you’ve been a victim of a scam, please contact your local law enforcement.”
