Friday, September 6 forecast: Happy cold front Friday!

The highly anticipated fall cold front has already blown through Missouri this morning! The front will not initially bring in cooler air and temperatures today will still reach the low 80s. However, the cool air gradually flows in tonight and you’ll notice a chill going out this evening.

There is a slight chance for isolated rain showers when the front passes through the area. Don’t plan for rain today, but don’t be surprised by a brief light rain shower either.

Saturday will be a cool, crisp, sunny day. High temperatures will halt in the mid-70s with a light northeast breeze. Saturday night will be chilly in the upper 40s making for a cold start Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon will be just as nice.

A warming trend is set for early next week. A quiet jetstream pattern takes shape for most of next week. This will lead to consistent temperatures in the mid-80s and little change daily.

The good news of course is the milder temperatures. The bad news is the lack of rain. We’ve been getting dry as of late and there are minimal signs that this will change.
