Hawley, Kunce speak out ahead of debate

Missouri – We are less than 50 days away from election day and Missouri’s two senate candidates have agreed to a debate.

The live televised debate will be on FOX49 on Halloween night.

“He’s been refusing to debate because he knows he doesn’t want people to see the contrast between me and him until the very last moment,” Democrat challenger Lucas Kunce said.

“I’ve been willing to debate him from day one and he hasn’t wanted to,” said Josh Hawley, the Republican incumbent.

Both candidates have agreed to the debate but the bickering continues.

“I’ve been trying to get him to do one for a long time,” Kunce said. “He keeps passing up on them and the only one he’s agreed to right now is one on Halloween, on Oct. 31, you know, quite a bit after early voting has already started.

“I’m glad it’ll be broadcast across the state and they can expect from me straight answers on the issues we’ve been talking about,” Hawley said. “But they can also expect me to ask my opponent who’s supporting in this election. Lucas Kunce is not answering if he supported Kamala Harris or Donald Trump. It’s strange.”
