The U.S. Department of Education recognizes eight Missouri schools as National Blue Ribbon Schools. This high honor recognizes schools that excel in academic performance or make significant strides in closing achievement gaps among different student groups. Schools in St. Louis, Lee’s Summit, Independence, Hannibal, Essex, and Clayton received the honor.
