(KOAM) – Phillip C. Mayfield, 35, who resided in both Monroe City, Missouri, and Quincy, Illinois, was sentenced to 20 years in federal prison on November 7, 2024, for methamphetamine distribution.
Following his prison term, he will serve five years of supervised release.
Mayfield was convicted in June after a jury trial, which revealed he sold over 50 grams of meth in Quincy parking lots in early 2023. At sentencing, U.S. District Judge Colleen R. Lawless cited Mayfield’s significant criminal history and motivation driven by the financial benefits of drug dealing.
The Illinois State Police and DEA collaborated on the investigation, with prosecution led by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Sarah E. Seberger and Matthew Z. Weir. The case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, aiming to reduce violent crime through community and law enforcement partnerships.
