Missouri Minute: STL aldermen seeks Rams funds for renovations; court blocks stacked cannabis tax

A panel of judges ruled Tuesday that Missouri counties may not stack marijuana taxes. That is, when a municipality is charging a 3% tax on cannabis, a county cannot levy its own 3% tax. Also in the St. Louis area, aldermen have proposed legislation that would allocate more than $200 million from a settlement over the Rams’ departure to infrastructure projects, housing and small business support. Plus, an activist investor has pumped more than $5 billion into Honeywell International, signaling possible changes to a business that employs more than 7,000 people in the Kansas City area.
