The Nebraska Department of Economic Development (DED) has published the application guidelines for the 2024 Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust Fund (NAHTF) program cycle. The NAHTF was set up in 1996 by the Nebraska Legislature. It was created to meet the state’s affordable housing needs. The fund is supported by a part of the documentary stamp tax from Nebraska real estate transactions. The DED oversees the fund.
The NAHTF’s Housing Development and Technical Assistance funding cycles are now open. Pre-applications are required and must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. (CT) on March 7, 2024. Full applications are due by 5:00 p.m. (CT) on May 9, 2024. Both types of applications must be submitted electronically via AmpliFund.
The DED has provided Application Guidelines and a Funding Timeline. Applicants can find these on the NAHTF webpage. The DED will also post pre-application and full-application workshops on its website. The pre-application workshop will be available on February 16th, and the full application workshop on March 8, 2024.
