If the role of political parties is to get and keep people of their respective ilk elected, then it might be easy to believe that: 1) the Nebraska Republican Party is doing a great job; and 2) the Nebraska Democratic Party is a failure. It’s partly true; the Democrats are uncomfortably weak. But what’s happening is that the state Democrats’ weakness allows Nebraska’s Republicans to be dysfunctional with very little consequence on Election Day.
