Families, advocates: Change needed after federal scrutiny of Nebraska’s mental health system

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – BrendaMae Stinson was shopping when she got a call from the Department of Justice telling her they wanted to hear her story. “I was just stunned but at the same time it was like all of these flooding emotions just went through my mind,” Stinson said. “My heart started racing because I was like ‘oh my god, someone’s listening, someone’s finally listening.'”
