Nebraska Attorney General announces charge filed in petition fraud case

Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers announced Friday that a petition circulator has been charged in a fraud case related to the Medical Cannabis ballot initiatives. The investigation began when Hall County Election Commissioner Tracy Overstreet flagged 17 pages of the Nebraska Medical Cannabis Regulation petition as potentially fraudulent signatures. The Attorney General’s Office said 21 pages of the Nebraska Medical Cannabis Patient Protection measure were also flagged for having possible fraudulent signatures.
