A line of strong to severe storms out west will weaken as they move east overnight

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – A vigorous storm system over the central Rockies will swing a cold front into western Nebraska this evening. This will be the focus for strong to severe storms this evening in western areas where there is a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 PM CDT this evening. The primary threat with storms out west will be damaging wind gusts of 70 to 80 mph. The line of storms will move east out of western Nebraska later this evening and overnight. This activity will weaken as it moves east into central Nebraska in the predawn hours of Wednesday morning. This line of showers and storms will continue into eastern Nebraska, completely exiting the region by midday tomorrow. Winds will remain windy out of the south overnight with gusts to around 30 mph. Lows tonight dipping back into the 40s panhandle to upper 60s east.
