Showers overnight; Fall weather returns in time for the Fall Equinox

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – The unseasonable heat is finally on its way out as we will welcome Fall with temperatures in the 60′s on Sunday. Overnight tonight showers will make their way into our region and linger into the day on Sunday. Most of the activity will remain south of I-80 with heavier rainfall amounts the farther south and east you get. We can expect up to a quarter of an inch of rain from Kearney to the Iowa border along I-80. Along the Nebraska/Kansas border rainfall amounts up to a half of an inch are possible with higher amounts towards Beatrice and Falls City. Lows tonight into the low 50′s and mid to upper 40′s for areas north and west of the Tri-Cities. Parts of the panhandle could be much cooler with temperatures in the mid 30′s. Highs tomorrow sitting in the low to mid 60′s for most of the state, 63 degrees here in the Tri-Cities, 64 in North Platte, and 67 in Lincoln. Rain moves out of the state tomorrow night leaving us with a dry Monday.
