Kearney, Neb. – Nebraska State Auditor Mike Foley helped to return over $650,000 of excess tax increment financing on September 10th. According to the Nebraska Auditor of Public Accounts, in 2023, there was over 1,300 TIF projects with excess property valuations totaling $6.1 billion. Foley it’s only fair to do the right thing and give the money back into the hands of local communities.
