Hot and dry through Monday; Brief cooldown on Tuesday

HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) – October is just around the corner, that’s right October, it certainly doesn’t feel like it though. Temperatures in the upper 80′s to low 90′s have us feeling like mid August. Not only has it been hot, it as also been unseasonably dry with much of Nebraska experiencing a top 5 driest September. Luckily with the dry air, our overnight lows have been able to get into the low 50′s and upper 40′s allowing for comfortable nights of sleep. We will see that again tonight as lows in the Tri-Cities are expected to get down to around 52 degrees. Lincoln is looking to wake up around 54 degrees, but cooler out west as North Platte is looking at a morning low of 46 degrees. Warm temperatures rebound tomorrow getting into the upper 80′s for the eastern half of the state, and low to mid 90′s from North Platte into the Panhandle.
